Cha Eun Woo Enthralls With Linguistic Talents In Kuala Lumpur Fanmeeting

The 22 year-old even prepared a Malay track for his local fans.

KUALA LUMPUR — Held at Menara PRGM last Sunday (27 Oct), the long-awaited Cha Eun Woo 1st Fanmeeting, Just One 10 Minute finally made its way to Kuala Lumpur.

This is the last stop for the whole tour, which had been to countries such as Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok and Manila.

Cha is one-sixth of the rising idol group ASTRO, but had also starred in web drama Top Management as well as the JTBC romantic comedy series Gangnam Beauty which marked his first leading role on television.

Recently, Cha plays a prince in historical drama Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung alongside Shin Se-kyung.

You would usually see idols kicking off their set with flashy outfits. But this was not the case for Cha. The 22 year-old singer wore a set of hanbok (a Korean traditional costume) coupled with a horsehair hat.

He did not hesitate to flaunt his soulful vocals by bringing to fans an Original Sound Track (OST) in his recent drama, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung, titled Please Remember (2019).

The game session was an archery session, where Cha had to shoot a ten-point to be able to give out some surprises to his fans. The hilarious singer started yelling out names of his fellow bandmates.

Could it be his squeal of good luck? We’ll like to think so, but he still missed the shots.

Cha dished up a local Malay song Sampai Ke Hari Tua, dedicated to his Malaysian fans. He bopped to the song and sang it as if it was his second language even though the language was foreign to him. Everyone was more than impressed with his linguistic skills.

The emcee took the chance to teach him some useful words like, “Sayang” which roughly translates to love in Malay. Cha picked it up on the spot and he exclaimed “Sayang, aku cinta padamu”.

Cha ended his set with Rainbow Falling (2018) but his fans were fervently yearning for the encore section.

His appreciation for fans is evident, as he also brought up tracks from ASTRO such as You & Me (2017) during the encore and wrapped up the show with a surprise video to express his gratitude to them.
