Ailee, Super Junior, TXT and more unite for “Evergreen Tree”, an ode to healthcare heroes

Evergreen Tree was initially meant as a pro-democracy anthem, and now it drives on healthcare heroes.

Korean celebrities from different genres have come together for a special track “Evergreen Tree”, dedicated to frontline and healthcare workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.

The emotional tune was first uploaded onto the official YouTube channel of the Blue House yesterday, a timely release as 19 April was the date of the April Revolution in South Korea.

Originally sung by singer Yang Hee-eun, “Evergreen Tree” was initially intended as a pro-democracy anthem for protesters in the 80s.

Celebrities who have contributed to the recording of the track include top vocalists like Sol-ji from EXID, Ailee, Hong Jin-young, Yoon Do-hyun and more.

The song rallied members from idol groups too. Such are Joy from Red Velvet, TXT, Ryeo-wook, Kyu-hyun, Ye-sung from Super Junior. Not to forget, veterans like Johan Kim and Baek Ji-young are also a part of the masterpiece.

“Evergreen Tree” is available in eight languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, French, Italian, German and Spanish, and available for download on Korean streaming sites like Bugs, Melon, Genie, Naver Music, FLO and Soribada.
