SINGAPORE – The annual Skechers Sundown Festival, organized by Red Spade Entertainment and presented by Skechers, took place from 19 April to 21 April, spanning a total of three days at Singapore’s hippest youngster hotspot, Siloso Beach.
The 3-day festival boasts a spectacular art installations, a myriad of food booths and fringe entertainment performances from artistes all over the region at three different stages, Utopia, Nirvana and Eden stage.
The second day saw a Korean hip-hop group MFBTY, that stands for “My Fans [Are] Better Than Yours,” consisting of Tiger JK, Yoon Mi-rae, and Bizzy taking over the Nirvana stage. The trio rocked it up with “Go” and Drunken Tiger’s “Mantra” before getting sentimental with their renowned “Angel”.
Member Bizzy even personally went down stage to distribute free merchandise that were cheering them on, while Yoon Mi-rae and Tiger JK were all hyped up as they spattered bottles of water to the crowd.
The night is never too late, as DJ Soda, one of the few female DJs in South Korean came in a for a DJ party session at midnight.
Day three was a thrill of exhilaration as the K-pop group iKON is slated to stage their set at the Utopia stage. Though the boys made a visit to Singapore just 2 months back for another event, fans already started lining the venue at 12 noon when the segment is supposed to kick off at 7.30PM. However, such early preparation is justified as iKON is considered to be one of the notable acts in the K-pop industry.
The septet dished out tunes that fans sang along to at once, like “Love Scenario”, “Rhythm Ta” and “BLING BLING”. Their 30-minute set was no short of passionate interaction between the members and the fans.
Dubbed the king of fanservice, member Jay, spotted with a striking purple ponytail hairdo, also personally came down from the stage just to get a tad bit closer to iKONics.
The boys definitely did not fail to amaze with their splendid set.
