This coming weekend, grab your lightsticks and gear up to feast on live-streamed concerts right from your home.
The onset of COVID-19 has left fans at home.
But SuperM and BTS are about to make your weekend a more bearable one.
Both K-pop boy bands are holding live stream concerts — BTS on 18-19 April and SuperM on 1 April as part of the “One World: Together At Home” global broadcast to champion frontline workers battling the pandemic while raising awareness for the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
SuperM is the only South Korean artiste to date in the line-up for the show, alongside other big names like Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Taylor Swift and more. The two-hour global special will air on April 19 at 8AM (GMT +8).
Additionally, SM Entertainment have also joined forces with South Korean tech giant Naver to deliver K-pop concerts to global fans on a digital platform.
Both companies have been working to expand the fanship platform currently available on the V Live application. The launch of a new streaming service Beyond LIVE, which live streams concerts for global fans and broadcasts pre-recorded performances, is also in the works.
SuperM will be the first to be on the platform, as their concert “We Are The Future LIVE” will be broadcasted in the virtual realm on April 26. The time for the stream is currently to be confirmed.

Korean boyband BTS announced last week that they will be holding a 8-part virtual stream of their concerts online for fans to enjoy the coming weekend. The live streams will commence at 1PM (GMT +8) for both days.
