The battle on the K-pop charts in May: IU X Suga, BOL4 X Baekhyun, MONSTA X and more

Feast your ears on these new releases this month.

Before the month even started, we’re already greeted with good news in succession.

Aside from notable collaborations, soloists and idol groups and soloists are also making their long-awaited comebacks.

  1. IU X Suga

The BTS rapper will not only be producing IU’s new single titled “8”, he will also be featured in the track. A digital moving teaser was shared on IU’s official Twitter handle to pique fans’ interest, but not much has been divulged about the upcoming release.

The duo’s work will be released on May 6.

  1. Bol4 X Baekhyun

Originally an indie-pop duo, BOL4 will now continue as a one-member artist with Ahn Ji Young. She will be teaming up with EXO’s vocalist, Baekhyun for a pre-release track titled “Leo”. The track drops on May 7.

The full album titled “Puberty Book II”, a continuation of their previous release, will be released a week later on May 13 alongside the music video.

  1. Taeyeon 

Taeyeon’s new album “Happy” was originally set for release on 9 March. However, due to the unfortunate passing of her father, the album release was postponed.

The soloist released a second music video teaser yesterday. It is confirmed that “Happy” will be out on 4 May.

  1. MONSTA X

After a short hiatus for the band because of member Joohoney’s health condition and the departure of ex-member Wonho, the lads are ready to return to the scene.

They are set to release a mini-album titled “FANTASIA X”, as they boast a classy aura in the teaser photos.

  1. TXT

BigHit Entertainment’s newest boy band will also be making their comeback, with their second mini-album titled “The Dream Chapter: Eternity”.

The new album drops 18 May, and is a continuation of their first album.
